Los plurales – Plurals in Spanish

To form the plural of nouns in Spanish, there are a few simple rules:
- Vowel endings: If a noun ends in a vowel (a, e, i, o, u), add “-s” to make it plural. For example, “libro” (book) becomes “libros” (books).
- Consonant endings: If a noun ends in a consonant, add “-es” to make it plural. For example, “papel” (paper) becomes “papeles” (papers).
- Nouns ending in -z: Change the “-z” to “-c” and add “-es.” For example, “pez” (fish) becomes “peces” (fish).
It’s important to note that there are a few exceptions and irregular plurals, but these basic rules cover most cases.
